What productivity tools do you use & how productive are you with your routine?
Hey guys! I'm curious to know what productivity tools you rely on to supercharge your productivity and how effective your current routine is in getting things done. I'm currently using Planless but looking for more ways to improve. Share your favorite apps, software, or techniques that keep you organized, focused, and efficient throughout the day.Posted by Adam SkinnerJun 27, 2023
When it comes to productivity tools, I highly recommend checking out Notion and Trello. Both offer great organization features, customizable workflows, and seamless collaboration. I haven't heard about Planless but would check it out.

Trello vs Asana, the better choice?
As an academic managing multiple projects, I often find myself in need of a system that combines a basic task list (weekly, today, and done) with a time-blocking feature that allows me to track my progress throughout the day. Are there any productivity apps that can cater to these requirements?Additionally, I'm curious if there is a strong preference among the members of this mastermind regarding which app works best for these specific needs.

As someone who has used both Trello and Asana, I can offer some insights. Trello's Kanban-style boards are great for organizing tasks and tracking progress visually, while Asana's robust features like custom fields and timelines make it ideal for managing complex projects with specific time-blocking needs. It really comes down to personal preference and the level of detail you require.

Can Freshservice manage assets beyond IT equipment?
I've heard a lot about Freshservice's IT asset management features, but I'm curious if anyone has utilized it to manage assets outside the realm of IT. Can it handle things like facilities or other types of resources effectively? Your insights and experiences would be greatly appreciated!Posted by Mathew KellyAug 30, 2023
I've been using Freshservice for a while now, and it's surprisingly versatile when it comes to asset management. While it's known for its IT focus, I've successfully used it to track and manage office furniture, equipment, and even office supplies. The customizable fields and categories allowed me to tailor it to our needs, and the intuitive interface made it easy for everyone on the team to adapt.

Can Otter.ai transcribe jargons accurately?
I've heard good things about Otter.ai's transcription capabilities, but I'm curious about its accuracy when it comes to industry-specific terminology and technical jargon. Have any of you used Otter.ai in a field with lots of specialized terms? How well does it handle those terms in your real-world usage?Posted by Emmie EricksonAug 31, 2023
I've been using Otter.ai in the marketing industry where there's plenty of jargon, and I'm pleasantly surprised. While it might stumble on super obscure terms, it generally recognizes and transcribes technical jargon accurately. For common industry terms, it's spot on. Just remember, the more distinct and clear your speech is, the better the transcription turns out, even with specialized terms.

GitHub Actions for Workflow Automation
I'm new to GitHub, and I've been hearing about GitHub Actions. Can someone shed light on what they are and how they can be leveraged to automate various aspects of the development workflow?Posted by Lois EricksonSep 14, 2023
GitHub Actions are incredibly handy for automating tasks in your development process. For example, you can set up Actions to automatically run tests whenever someone pushes new code to your repository, deploy your application to a server when changes are merged to the main branch, or even send notifications to your team on specific events. The best part is, it's all configured using YAML files right in your repository, so it's version-controlled and easy to manage.

How accurate is the transcription of Superpowered?
Has anyone here tried out Superpowered, the AI-powered notetaker? I'm looking for real user experiences. How accurate is the transcription? Do the intelligent notes really help organize the content? I'm a busy professional aiming to up my note-taking game, and this tool seems intriguing. Share your insights.M

The accuracy of the transcription of Superpowered is surprisingly impressive, even with multiple speakers and different accents. The real value, though, comes from the intelligent notes it generates. It's not just about getting the words down; it identifies speakers, summarizes key points, and even marks action items with timestamps. This has made reviewing and referencing my notes a breeze. As someone juggling multiple projects, the time it saves is substantial, and being able to access my notes from any device is incredibly convenient.

Asana vs Slack
How do you use these tools in your workflow, and which one do you find more essential for team collaboration and project management?K
Posted by Keisha ShawSep 27, 2023
Asana is fantastic for project management, task tracking, and keeping teams organized. It's like a digital to-do list on steroids. Slack, on the other hand, is all about real-time communication and collaboration. It's great for quick chats, sharing files, and keeping everyone on the same page. Personally, I find Asana indispensable for managing complex projects

Navigating Dropbox
I've just started using Dropbox for sharing large files, but I'm concerned about hitting storage limits and slow syncing. What strategies or practices have you found most effective for sharing big files without these issues?Posted by Arabella O'ConnorSep 22, 2023
Been using Dropbox for a while, and here's what works for me: first, consider compressing large files into ZIP archives before uploading. This can significantly reduce file sizes. Second, take advantage of shared folders. Instead of sending individual file links, create shared folders and invite collaborators. This way, the shared content doesn't count against your storage limit, and everyone can access the files without syncing them to their local storage, which can slow things down.
