I believe Zoom became popularized in America during the pandemic when more businesses switched to working from home and going to online meetings. I like BlueJeans as a virtual meeting and event platform, they have better quality video and audio. There are more capabilities with visual and data collaborations within the app itself plus the security is top notch thats why everyone in Europe is using BlueJeans.

Even though Skype has been around longer, Zoom has managed to capture a larger market share due to its user-friendly interface, superior video and audio quality, and additional features like virtual backgrounds and breakout rooms.
