Frequently asked questions about Clockify
Clockify has a free plan for up to five users, with unlimited time tracking and projects. Paid plans start at $4.99 per user per month with monthly billing, or $3.99 per user per month billed annually. Paid plans add capabilities such as a shared-device kiosk, timesheet approvals, and scheduling. Clockify also offers a seven-day trial of Pro features.
Clockify is worth considering if a small team needs to see how much time work takes without paying for basic tracking. Its free plan supports up to five users and unlimited projects. As the team grows, paid plans add administrative controls and billing features. Businesses should budget for paid seats if they need more than five users or advanced workflows.
Clockify, Toggl Track, and Harvest all track project time, but they serve somewhat different priorities. Clockify offers options such as a shared-device kiosk and, on paid plans, scheduling and time-off management. Toggl Track may suit teams prioritizing a simpler tracking workflow. Harvest is worth comparing if collecting client payments inside the time-tracking product is essential; Clockify does not offer native payment collection.
Clockify’s strengths are flexible time entry, project reporting, and a free plan that supports up to five users. Paid plans extend it into approvals, scheduling, and cost tracking. The trade-off is that teams needing those controls must pay per seat, and the broader feature set may require more setup than a basic timer. Choose based on which workflows your team will actually use.
Clockify is a time-tracking app for recording hours spent on tasks, projects, and client work. Individuals can run a timer or enter time manually, while managers can review team timesheets and reports. Businesses use those records to understand workloads, account for billable time, and compare work across projects, whether employees work remotely, onsite, or in a hybrid arrangement.
Clockify helps businesses connect tracked hours to project reporting, so they can see where team time goes. Reports can break down hours by project, person, and date. Paid features extend that view: project estimates help compare planned and actual time, while the Pro plan adds budgets, expenses, and labor cost and profit tracking. Those features are useful when project margins matter.
Yes. Clockify offers time-tracking integrations with tools including Asana, Trello, Jira, and ClickUp, and it can show events from Google Calendar and Outlook Calendar. These connections help teams record time alongside work they already plan elsewhere. Integration availability and functionality vary by tool; for example, Clockify lists its QuickBooks integration under the Standard plan and above.
Yes. Clockify’s kiosk lets assigned employees clock in and out on a shared device using a PIN or QR code. It is a paid-plan feature, so it is not included in the free plan. This setup can suit onsite or seasonal teams that do not each need to use a personal device to record their working hours.
No. Clockify’s desktop auto tracker records app and website activity locally, and only the person using it can see those recorded activities. The user must choose which activities to turn into time entries; they do not appear on a timesheet automatically. Managers can see submitted time entries, but not unconverted auto-tracker activity. Teams should distinguish this feature from Clockify’s separate monitoring options.
Yes. Clockify supports timesheet approvals and locking on its Standard plan and above. Employees can submit recorded hours for review, and managers can approve timesheets before those records are used downstream. Locking helps prevent changes after a period is finalized. Teams that only need employees to enter and review their own hours may find the free plan sufficient.
