Good morning, this is Andy Karuza with NachoNacho, here for a doubleheader of NachoTuesday. Today, I have Blazej from Landingi with us. As you can see behind him, Landingi is a platform that helps marketers build, launch, and optimize various types of digital assets like landing pages, one-pagers, microsites, funnels, and pop-ups. Marketers can do this independently without needing to involve agencies, designers, or IT departments. We also provide technical solutions around infrastructure and security, so marketers don't have to be experts in these areas to launch their campaigns properly.
What got you to this point in your career? How did you come up with the idea for Landingi?
Landingi has been around for almost 12 years, but I started as an interactive agency in 2005, focusing on web development and digital campaigns for various customers. Over time, we realized there was a gap in the market for landing pages, something seemingly simple but actually quite complex. Many customers didn't want to pay for it, but they wanted efficient results from their Google ads. It became clear that having the right landing page was crucial for a good conversion rate. Landingi started as a solution to our own problem, making it easier and faster to deliver landing pages alongside Google ads campaigns.
We took the idea to a startup weekend in Poland, received great feedback, and were very motivated to continue. After two years of bootstrapping as a side project in my agency, we officially started Landingi, taking a seed round from a VC company to focus 100% on landing pages.
Many of the best entrepreneurs I've seen start by solving a problem for themselves, realizing that others share the same issue. As someone running an agency, you experienced these problems firsthand and decided to build a solution.
Exactly. Understanding the problem you're trying to solve is crucial, and that's what has always guided us in building Landingi.
What tips would you offer companies for designing and building landing pages that convert?
That's a common question. First and foremost, it's essential to have a valuable offer that is attractive in the market. We've seen many ugly landing pages with high conversion rates because they had a great offer that resonated with the right audience. Conversely, we've also seen beautifully designed landing pages that fail to convert because the offer wasn't compelling or was too expensive for the target audience.
Once you have a solid offer, the next step is design, which should be personalized to your target personas and reflect your brand. The landing page should be an extension of the advertising that led the user there, so the content should match and not confuse the visitor. While beautiful design is important, it shouldn't come at the cost of functionality or speed. Overly complex designs can slow down the page and hinder its effectiveness.
Finally, technology is crucial. Your landing page should meet all technical requirements, such as Google PageSpeed, security features, SSL, and cookies. These technical aspects are vital for a smooth user experience and trustworthiness.
It's also important to think beyond just one landing page. Personalization is key, so we see customers who create at least 20-30 landing pages for different personas or offers being more successful than those who stick to just one or two.
Landing pages are essential, and A/B testing plays a crucial role in optimizing them. It's about running multiple ad campaigns targeting the same ideal customer profile (ICP) with different landing pages, comparing their conversion rates, and iterating based on the results. The goal is to continuously refine and improve until you achieve the best possible outcomes.
What constitutes a good offer on a landing page, especially for a B2B company? While discounts are popular, there are many other options, such as webinars or sales consultations. It's essential to tailor your offers based on your company's stage and the tactics you want to employ. For example, when starting, focus on securing your brand keywords and creating comparison pages with competitors. This approach is effective, especially in red oceans where established leaders dominate the market. Make it easy for potential customers to understand the differences between your offerings and those of competitors, whether through pricing or feature comparisons.
Webinars and newsletter sign-ups are standard offers, but registration pages for specific events or services also require attention. It's crucial to recognize that A/B testing may not always be the best approach, especially for niche businesses or those in the early stages with limited traffic. Early results from A/B tests can be misleading due to insufficient data. In such cases, personalization may be a more effective strategy than A/B testing. Additionally, consider using other methods, like offering demos or limited-time discounts, particularly for freemium models. For instance, you can retarget free plan users with an offer to upgrade to a paid version, providing a compelling incentive.
For small businesses with limited advertising budgets, it's essential to start smartly. Begin by securing your brand keywords, as many business owners may not realize how others bid on their brand phrases. This strategy can significantly boost visibility. Also, focus on understanding the sources of your traffic and the types of customers they bring. It's crucial to measure the effectiveness of different channels and adjust your strategy accordingly.
A step-by-step approach is often best. Start with small, specific campaigns targeting particular features or audiences, and learn from the results. If one approach doesn't yield the desired outcomes, pivot to another. Avoid spreading resources too thin by trying to run broad campaigns early on; instead, focus on targeted, manageable initiatives that can provide clear insights and results.
Tracking is crucial yet complex, especially with evolving privacy policies. It’s important to be patient and mindful of the timing when running campaigns. For example, companies might be more engaged with reporting and payments at the end of the month, while mid-month might be more suitable for strategic work or testing new ideas. Running a campaign over a longer period and considering the timing can help avoid wasting resources.
For those in early stages, leveraging marketplaces with existing traffic can provide valuable exposure. Channels are equally important. B2B brands might benefit from Google Ads with high-intent keywords, while consumer brands with lower-cost products might find Facebook advertising effective.
Looking ahead to advertising trends, privacy and data access remain critical. However, there are still key areas to focus on this year. Building a personal brand is increasingly important as customers seek authenticity. Utilizing video and audio formats, such as TikTok shorts or Spotify podcasts, can be effective across multiple platforms.
SEO remains significant, especially with the rise of AI in content creation. The challenge will be to demonstrate that content is produced by real people, as AI-generated content becomes more prevalent. Keeping an eye on SEO and adapting to these changes is crucial.
For small businesses, creating high-quality, authentic content is essential. While AI tools like ChatGPT can assist, genuine engagement through webinars and videos can offer more value than automated content. This kind of authenticity helps in building a connection with the audience.
Regarding landing page optimization, several tools can complement your efforts. Besides using landing page builders, A/B testing tools are important, especially with the sunset of Google Optimize. Analytics tools are crucial for tracking micro-conversions—events like button clicks, form submissions, or video views—which can improve ad targeting and reduce conversion costs.
Investing in infrastructure and CMS systems that integrate with landing pages can streamline operations. Additionally, tools that record visitor behavior, such as heat maps and click maps, can offer insights into how design elements perform. This approach can provide quicker insights than waiting for A/B testing results, especially with limited traffic. Understanding visitor behavior and having a robust infrastructure for quick website performance are key components for successful campaigns.
Page speed is crucial for website performance. Hyper-personalized campaigns are more feasible than ever. For example, if a user clicks a specific button on a landing page showing interest in a product, they can be immediately entered into a retargeting campaign with messaging tailored to their position in the sales funnel. If they were near the checkout button, the campaign would differ from one targeting users who just viewed the page. These opportunities are becoming more prevalent, and marketers should leverage them. Marketing is fundamentally about communication, so understanding a customer's needs and interests allows for more effective messaging and value propositions.
For small business owners and startups, it's important to consider how landing pages and campaigns can be used in various contexts. For instance, landing pages can be effective for HR purposes. If you need to hire experts, creating a well-personalized advertising campaign for job positions can be very effective. Additionally, customer support and success teams can use landing pages to collect feedback or present forms attractively, which helps in measuring engagement and understanding how users interact with forms.
A crucial aspect for any software business is optimizing pricing and registration pages. It's essential to spend time refining these pages to ensure they present offers clearly and capture customer reactions effectively. Testing different approaches, such as detailing the exact resources or features associated with a plan rather than just describing the plan, can help improve clarity and user understanding.
Regarding background analysis, many companies are exploring ways to identify trends and analyze data across different landing pages. For instance, integrating call-to-action boxes within blog posts can attract readers to additional content and generate leads. However, simply attracting traffic is not enough; converting that traffic into leads or customers through effective calls-to-action and nurturing processes is crucial.
Looking ahead, Landingi is focusing on leveraging AI to enhance the process of building landing pages. The goal is to make landing page creation faster and more efficient, with features that assist with content generation, SEO metadata, and more. As AI continues to advance, Landingi plans to incorporate more automation and data-driven personalization into their platform. Combining AI with robust data analytics will be key to optimizing landing pages and achieving better results.
